Sorry I just abandoned my blog for almost half a year! LOL Anyways, I just got bored of Internet Marketing and Twitter.

I'm kind of trying to get back into it now. I'm looking at Ebay right now. So far I haven't sold anything yet, but I think it just takes some patience. I'm just trying to sell stuff I have around my house. I'm trying to sell them on Kijiji and Craigslist too. So far no takers.

I totally abandoned my Twitter accounts and my CPA account. I think I should attempt to make enough money so that I can take it out at least.

I'm really bad at this! LOL

Going to Learn HTML

Starting to Earn From NeoBux

I'm starting to earn more than 4 cents a day from NeoBux. What is my secret? Rented Referrals!

I've made a promise to myself to not spend any "real money" on NeoBux. That is I'm not going to take money from my PayPal to rent referrals. All the referrals I rent will be from money I have made directly from NeoBux. I'm not investing any money on NeoBux.

I know this will mean it will take a lot longer to start earning more money, but I'm okay with that. I don't like risk. I'd rather earn little more slowly rather than risk not making back my money.

So far I have 6 referrals and having referrals makes NeoBux a lot more fun.

I've Been Lazy On Twitter

I've been lazy on Twitter. I haven't been tweeting everyday or following more people. It's okay, maybe this will make a Twitter ban less likely.

Earnings on RevTwt have decreased substantially. I don't know what the problem is. Fewer people are clicking on my ads even though I have more followers now. People aren't clicking on the more expensive ads now. There are many days were I get zero clicks now.

So far I've made $8 on RevTwt, but I won't be able to get the money out until I've reached $20. So, I will have to continue with occasional ads until I earn $20.

It's looking like RevTwt will not be a major source of income unless something changes.

It's too bad, it was relatively easy to earn at first.

HelloTxt Links Don't Work

I was wondering why my click counts weren't increasing. Then I tested out a couple of my shortened links on Twitter and discovered that the shortened HelloTxt links weren't working.

This is a real inconvenience.

I first thought that maybe it was just the affiliate links that weren't working, but that wasn't the case. All of my links to science blog articles were not working either.

Now I have a bunch of dead links on my Twitter.

I guess I will just need to replace them all one by one.

A Side Effect of Promoting Stuff...

I'm experiencing huge urges to buy the stuff I promote! Seriously, I think I am an Internet marketer's dream. LOL I think I'm easily influenced.

It's just that before I promote something I check out its landing page to see if it is worth promoting and while checking it out, I totally get sucked into wanting to buy the product.

At first I was only going to promote The Affiliate Code, but while checking out its landing page, I managed to get mesmerized by the video. I had to go to the bathroom, but I just kept on watching! I ended up watching the whole 45 minutes of Michael Jone's promotional video. I got all hyped up. I then proceeded to buy a copy.

Overall it wasn't a bad choice though, even though I really should have been more objective before acting on impulse and buying it. It turned out to be a good series of videos. They might be a bit too elementary for seasoned Internet marketers though and for people who know their way around a computer and making websites. For me, it was just what I needed. The video practically spoon fed me information and held my hand through all the steps. LOL

I'm going to use the information in it to start up my first website. I'm just going to follow all the instructions in The Affiliate Code.

Anyways, I digress. :) Right now I am in the process of promoting another product and I'm totally sucked into it! I want to buy it, but I'm going to restrain myself and wait until I actually make enough profit to buy it. I think it's coaching or something. The guy in it sounds really convincing! He was even on TV. That guy has a reputation to uphold and he must be good if he was brave enough to face television! Anyways, that is just my thoughts on that.

Sigh, I think I am hopeless. LOL

I Might Give Up Affiliate Marketing

It seems like everyone hates me because I am trying to sell stuff. I hate it. I also hate knowing I might be scamming people. I don't know the products I promote very well.

I hate this. I am so broke, but my guilty conscience might not let me continue. I just hate that people hate me.

Why can't the stuff I promote be ethical stuff?

Sigh.

I tried promoting a hair product on this hair forum I frequent, but then someone on the forum pointed out that I was promoting something that would charge people's credit cards every 90 days for new products if they don't cancel. It was in the fine print. I didn't even see it. I thought I read the fine print. I knew it wasn't as simple as a free trial, but I thought it was just that you had to buy the product to get the free trial, not that you would agree to having it sent to your place every 90 days.

Sigh, stuff like that is just sneaky and wrong. I can't promote stuff like that. Or if I do I will make sure to let my customers know about the fine print. But that would probably mean that they will not buy the product.

Sigh. I need to get a job.

Maybe there are some good ClinkBank products out there. I know I really liked the product I got. Maybe I should stick with buying ClinkBank products, trying them out and promoting them if I think they are worthwhile.

I don't want to taint my reputation.

Or maybe I can promote real physical products. It is less likely that people will be disappointed with physical products. Maybe I should check out Commission Junction.

Renting Referrals In NeoBux

I finally decided to rent referrals in NeoBux. Renting referrals costs money so I didn't want to spend any money at first, but upon more research I realized that the only way to make any big money on NeoBux was to get direct or rent referrals. Getting 4 cents a day was not going to lead to the big bucks.

So what are rented referrals at NeoBux? They are referrals you rent with money who click on advertisements. You get half a cent for every advertisement they click on. The rented referrals are real people so sometimes they might not click on the ads. You can recycle an inactive rented referral for 7 cents and you can extend the rentals for your good and active rented referrals. You rent the referrals for 1 month.

I had saved up a little over a dollar at NeoBux. I thought about using my own money to rent referrals, but I decided against that. I have decided not to use any extra money at all. I'm just going to use the money I've already earned.

I rented 3 referrals for 75 cents. I'm just going to rent more as I earn more money.

I was very happy to come to my blog today to find that I've had 427 unique visitors since I started. (Well actually, a day or so after I started since it took a few days to figure out how to put a stat counter on my blog!)

I know 400 isn't a lot and that people get 400 in one day, but for me it's huge. I'm also very happy I am indexed by Google. I can actually find my blog through Google now. I have to use long keywords, but I don't mind. I'm building my blog and it is working to bring people in.

I'm just very grateful to you (my readers) for taking the time to check out my blog. I really appreciate it.

You don't need to click on any ads or banners for me to really appreciate you. I don't care too much about whether or not this particular blog makes me any money. I just enjoy writing in it.

Earnings for RevTwt

I like tweeting interesting things and I like that I make a few cents everyday just by using Twitter.

Will I Really Get a Wii if I Click on the Banner?

It sounds too good to be true right? I didn't really know how these free offers worked before now. I actually clicked on the advertisement for a free Wii just to find out what it involved.

Applying to a CPA Network

I'm hearing a bit about CPA (cost per action) networks and it has gotten me interested. I get about 4 clicks a day on Twitter from RevTwt ads and I've made more than $5 in a couple of weeks. I am thinking if I can get a click to pay out more than 15 cents, that would be really great. That is why I am looking in CPA advertisements now.

I think the hard work on Twitter has been paying off. I'm real and genuine and provide interesting information. I get re-tweeted quite often. My follower numbers are increasing slowly but surely. I am focusing on quality rather than quantity.

I think I will start up niche specific Twitter accounts so I can better target offers from my CPA advertisements (if I get accepted that is). Then I will build some niche specific blogs. There is a lot of research to be done, but I will handle it.

So I just applied to a CPA network. I hope to hear from them soon. Wish me luck!

Twitter Karma Disabled Bulk Unfollow

A big wrench was thrown into my plans suddenly. Twitter Karma disabled their bulk unfollow option because Twitter told them too. I guess they are cracking down on people following a bunch of people to just get them to follow them back.

It was a very useful tool for me. It's too bad there isn't that option anymore. Right now I'm using The Twit Cleaner and manually unfollowing people one by one.

This is going to slow the growth of my Twitter accounts significantly, but it's okay. I will just have to build up my accounts slowly.

It Is Ruthless Out There

Researching Internet Marketing has really opened up my eyes. A lot of Internet marketers will do anything to make money and they will lie, cheat and scam. There are a few honest people out there though, but even those who are honest to other Internet marketers will not stop to think about scamming someone else.

There are a lot of scams involving CPA (Cost per action) offers. Many Internet marketers will trick people into filling out their information, like name and e-mail. Sometimes they will target desperate lonely men and pretend to be women who are interested. Other times they will offer non existent jobs on Craigslist. There are a lot of scams on Craigslist. Please be careful. I will never just trust a classified ad again.

I don't want to deceive people, but I realize now that I may be doing it without really thinking out it. I post ads using RevTwt to Twitter and the ads try to sell products, but are those products any good? I really don't know because I have not bought any of those products. If people trust me they may think that I endorse those ads. I'm going to put out a disclaimer on my Twitter to let people know I've never personally tried those products. I think that will make me feel better.

Learning How to Keep and Increase Twitter Followers

Before I started my money making journey, I had one small Twitter account, with 5 followers, following 5 people. I wasn't that active so I really did not know the workings of Twitter.

Now that I have about 100 followers in each of my Twitter accounts, I've discovered some things.

First people will unfollow you if you tweet advertisements. You just have to make sure you keep most of your followers and slowly gain followers at the same time. You have to tweet things that people want to read. You have to tweet things that are of value to people.

Also you have to interact with your followers. I'm just learning about this right now. Check out who is replying to your tweets and thank them for reading. Start some conversations and get interested in other people.

I like to thank my followers for clicking on the advertisements to show appreciation. Don't pretend to be someone you are not, be yourself. People can tell if you are not being genuine. Be friendly and enjoy tweeting and more people will follow you back.

Starting to Make a Few Cents

I'm starting to make a few cents! I'm excited. It's not much, but it is better than the zero dollars I was making! So where do I get my few cents?

I get the most right now from RevTwt. RevTwt is an application that lets you post ads on Twitter. Every valid click gives you a few cents. I've been getting about 3 clicks a day.

Not Cut Out to be an Affiliate Marketer?

I'm really starting to think I am not cut out to be an affiliate marketer. It seems like to be successful you have to stretch the truth, mislead or outright lie. I don't like deceiving people like that.

On a certain forum I've discovered that marketers can fake testimonials. There are even fake testimonial generators out there on the web. There are places to generate tons of fake names and addresses and other information. There is a whole database of public pictures marketers can use to put a face on their fake testimonials.

There are also tons of psychological tactics to get people to buy things. I'm not sure I can be that cunning. This really opened up my eyes. I will never entirely trust a salesperson again, especially a salesperson on-line.

The more I read about what being an affiliate marketer entails, the more it turns me off. I should try to find some white-hat forums about affiliate marketing. White haters are the more ethical people.

I haven't sold any copies of The Affiliate Code so far and I doubt I will sell any using my methods. It is sad, but I think to be successful as an affiliate marketer you have to be dishonest. I do hope someone proves me wrong though.

What to Tweet on Twitter?

Things are going well with my Twitter accounts. I have 166 followers in one account. Now the problem is keeping the followers I already have and adding new followers. To keep the followers I have and to encourage new followers I need to tweet things that my readers want to read.

Right now I am just being myself and tweeting things that I am interested in, like random interesting facts and quotes and science news. I hope that is enough to keep my followers interested.

Now I will have to always be on the lookout for new and interesting things to tweet. I've found several sites with interesting facts and quotes and a science blog that will help provide me with some content.

On top of these, I also just tweet about what I am doing, what I am eating, thinking, etc. I don't want to over do it thought, I imagine most people are not interested in what I had for lunch. I tweet these so that my followers can get a sense of who I am. I'm not just some nameless person tweeting out random facts. I think adding some personal tweets can make it more interesting for my followers.

How to Make Money Using RevTwt

I've discovered a way to make money slowly but surely using RevTwt. RevTwt allows you to tweet advertisement to your followers. They have strict rules about how you can do this. Every valid click on the advertisement gives you a few cents. It seems to range from 5 cents to 15 cents per click.

You need at least 50 followers to be able to use RevTwt and your Twitter account(s) must meet some quality standards. It must have a ratio of 20% advertisements to 80% real tweets or less. I make sure to tweet way more than I need. I don't want to drive my followers to unfollow me. They might unfollow me if I tweet too many advertisements.

The good thing about RevTwt is that the people clicking on the advertisements don't need to buy anything, they just need to click on them and you will get paid for them.

RevTwt has a strict policy on click fraud. Some people click on the advertisements in their own twitter. This is not allowed and RevTwt will not give you earnings obtained through click fraud. Also, you cannot trick people into clicking the links. They have to click the links on their own.

So far 6 people have clicked on the advertisements I've sent out and I've earned 38 cents. It's not much, but I also don't have too many followers yet. I imagine many more people will click on my the advertisements when I have thousands of followers. It will take a while to build up a followers base, but I am patient.

Some Twitter Tools

I'm trying some new things with Twitter and I thought I should let you all in on the secret. I'm using these tools with little to no problem.

The first of these tools is a website called http://hellotxt.com/. If you have several Twitter accounts you can save time using hellotxt. With hellotxt you can update your status all at once.

I am finding that some messages get lost though and don't post to every Twitter account, but it is still better than going to each account and updating each one.

Another cool website is http://dossy.org/twitter/karma/. Twitter Karma lets you follow and unfollow people in bulk quickly and easily. It is very useful.

Making Money with E-Whoring?

Wow, I learn something new everyday. I just discovered there is such a thing as e-whoring. E-Whoring is doing cyber sex on a webcam or in chat to make money. Often they will promote a subscription to an adult site for commissions. It seems a select group of people on-line make quite a good living off e-whoring. I've also discovered that a lot of people who e-whore are actually men pretending to be young women.

It is interesting to see what some people will do just for money. Apparently self respect is very low on the list priorities. Making money is the most important thing for a lot of those people and they will do anything to make some.

Trying Things with Twitter

I'm getting very little traffic on this blog, which is to be expected I guess. It is very hard for people to find this blog. I haven't done much in terms of search engine optimization, which is why I am trying my hand on Twitter.

I'm following a couple hundred of tweepies everyday in an effort to get more followers. Once I build up enough followers and content, I plan on advertising my affiliate link on Twitter.

I won't spam people with it. I know I won't get much targeted traffic this way, but I'm hoping just the increased exposure will help me out. If I get thousands of followers, surely some will click on my link? Hopefully someone will then get interested in the product and buy it, like I did.

I'm trying to tweet original and informative tweets so people will actually want to follow me. I am searching for interesting facts and pages for people to read.

I will also search for keywords like money, so those who are already interested in making more money will click on the link.

The product I am promoting is The Affiliate Code. I have personally bought it and I think it is a great product. I don't have the time to implement what I've learned right now (even though the steps are quite simple) because school is starting soon. Once I get into a routine I will devote a certain portion of my day to doing the things I've learned in The Affiliate Code.

So, in the meantime I am hoping methods like Twitter will help me out.

There's a Whole World of Cheating

Browsing around a search engine optimization forum, I discovered what is called Black Hat Tactics and White Hat Tactics. Apparently Black Hat Tactics describes the ways to cheat yourself onto the first page of Google. Some of the techniques sound very ethically questionable.

There seems to be a lot of hackers on sites like that. They seem to be hackers anyways. I don't understand any of the technical stuff, but a lot of their techniques seem illegal or at least immoral. They use programs and bots to spam sites. There are also other tricks, like picking domain names that are typos of well known domain names. There is a whole world of tricks out there.

Going to those forums actually scares me a lot. There are a lot of scammers out there. If they are willing to use these so called Black Hat Techniques and Tactics, who is to say they won't lie, cheat, hack and steal from you? I better be careful out there. I am not technically knowledgeable.

There is a whole world of lies and deception out there in the money making on-line world. If I get anything out of this, it is that I was too trusting in the past. This has really opened my eyes. I will be weary of everything now. I need to do my research, find out a telephone number and address from an on-line company before I buy anything from them.

Four Days into Affiliate Marketing

It has been four days now since I started on my journey of learning affiliate marketing. So far I have made zero dollars. LOL That's okay. I know I will not make money overnight. It will take a lot of work. I will hope for my first sale. I know I need to generate more traffic to my blog. I'm going to use some of the techniques I learned in The Affiliate Code, like writing articles. I will need to come up with some quality articles.

It's going to take a long time to implement the things I learned in The Affiliate Code. Michael Jones claims you can get set up in a day and to his credit he does actually go though all the steps in one day, but he knows what he is doing. He can write a copy like second nature. I'm a complete newbie here. LOL I just learned what a copy is! I know for sure it will take some time to perfect the techniques I've learned.

I am determined though. I will not give up. It helps that I am not desperate for money right now. I can afford the time it takes to learn and make mistakes. I don't need much money to live on right now since I still live with my parents.

I have not gone over any more videos from the course today, but I might watch the second module later tonight. I was busy reading money making forums today. It is really hard to separate the scams from the legitimate websites and products.

I got lucky with The Affiliate Code. I just kind of went with my gut on it. It has a very high gravity rating and I figured it must be an okay product if lots of others are promoting it. I'm glad it was worth the money.

Money Making Forums

I'm learning a lot about the culture of affiliate marketing as I start to read blogs and articles about it. Overall I am very disappointed, especially on forums. People on the money making forums are all mostly about promoting their own products every chance they can get and are not really helping other community members.

When they do help, it is usually to recommend their product. After reading about five money making forums, I feel jaded. The world would be a very fake and materialistic place if it were run by most of the people on those forums.

Of course there are the few who are genuinely helpful and are contributing members of the community, but they are few and far between. Everyone just wants to make money.

The forums have to come up with a ton of rules to keep spammers out and maintain some sense of community. I feel bad for the moderators. They must have a lot of work to do.

I know most people who join the forums are probably just trying to increase their post counts and promote their website or product. It is acceptable up to a point. A small signature with a link to a personal blog or website is usually okay, but sometimes people are very aggressive at promoting their products and everything they write is about promoting their own website/product/whatever.

I belong to a mental health support forum and the difference between that and the money making forums is staggering. They are totally different environments. I much prefer the support forum. It's kind of hard to get used to the culture in money making forums.

The Ethics of Affiliate Marketing

I kind of went on a tangent with my last post. I was supposed to be talking about niches, but I wandered into ethics. I think ethics deserves a post of its own.

I have a very strong sense of ethics. I will not take advantage of people and I am not willing to deceive people. I know a lot of affiliate marketers embellish the truth and exagerate a lot, but I won't be doing that. I want to be truthful and honest. I know that will probably mean I will not make as much money, but that is okay. Going against my personal code of ethics is too big of a price to pay.

I will give my honest opinion of a product and I plan on selling only the products I feel are worthy. That means I will need to buy the product and see it for myself in most cases. Of course opinions will differ so it doesn't mean that everyone will be satisfied with a product that I am satisfied with. Everyone is different, with different likes and dislikes.

The good thing with ClinkBank is that you can get a refund if you do not like the product. I think that is a good thing because I want people to be happy with their product.

I will be honest and say that some of the free traffic generation techniques that Michael Jones uses in The Affiliate Code are ethically questionable in my eyes. They might be perfectly ethical for other people, but for me they are not. I will be modifying his techniques to make them acceptable for me. It means I will do a ton more of work and it also means the traffic won't be as good, but that is okay. I'm not willing to go against my personal code of ethics.

Finding a Niche for ClickBank

I finished watching the whole The Affiliate Code course last night. I learned some really eye opening tactics for free traffic generation. I'm excited to try them out. I will modify some of those techniques though because I do have an ethical issue with one of the them. They are by no means illegal, it's just some parts are ethically questionable to me.

Today I am going over the videos a second time. I just re-watched the first module on Niches. I know I am trying to sell The Affiliate Code right now, but honestly I don't really like the money making niche.

I'm going to try to find a good niche to work with. Michael Jones in The Affiliate Code gives some good tips on finding good niches. He even gives you an Excel file with built in calculations to determine if a particular niche is worthwhile. Being a complete newbie at this and also being not that knowledgeable with Excel, I find that very helpful.

Some topics I am interested in are, growing long hair, losing weight and mental health. I will need to do some research into each of these topics to see if they will make good niches. I suspect the losing weight niche is profitable, but I am not 100% sure. I will need to use the techniques shown in The Affiliate Code to determine if that niche is profitable.

Whatever niche I choose, I resolve to put ethics first above all else. I will only sell products that are actually good and helpful to people. I know that will probably mean I will not be a top affiliate marketer, but there are some things that are more important than money.

Learning to Make Money with Affiliate Marketing

Well, it has been another busy day for me. I watched a good bit of The Affiliate Code. There is so much information in it that I am going to watch it all over again. That will probably take another 3 days. I'm taking notes next time. This time I am just watching it to get an overview of it once. So far it has surpassed my expectations.

As a complete newbie at affiliate marketing, the videos are very helpful.

It is getting late now, but I plan on watching the rest of the videos later tonight. I'm a night owl. lol

Right now I am worried about being a failure with ClickBank. The videos are great and all, but I still have doubts as to whether or not I can actually make a living off of this. So far I haven't made any sales, but it is only my second day. I haven't implemented anything I've learned yet so I hope things will turn around for me.

I very much doubt I will make as much as the creator of The Affiliate Code makes. Michael Jones shows proof that he makes $65,000 a month, but I am no Michael Jones. LOL I am just a newbie. I hope I can make a decent amount of money with ClickBank though and I know it will be a lot of hard work. I'm willing to work hard for my money.

I have to buy a domain name and set up a website. There is a lot to learn. I've never had my own website before. This is going to be an adventure. I hope I have time to do this all. I'm going back to school in about a week. I'm only taking two classes, but they are going to be a lot of work. I think I will set X number of hours a week for affiliate marketing.

Oh and in the interest of self disclosure, I am currently an affiliate for The Affiliate Code and part of my reason for blogging is to hopefully get some customers, but the main reason for my blogging is to keep track of my adventures with affiliate marketing and share my story.

Hello! I'm just starting out with ClickBank and learning the ropes as I go along. I want to share my knowledge with you all as I learn it.

I just bought The Affiliate Code. I really like it so far. It is a whole detailed program on how to make money as an affiliate. I'm watching Module 1 right now and I'm learning a lot.

Here is what I learned so far:

It is very important to choose your niche well. You want a niche with lots of buyers. The program goes in detail into how to find a niche that will be profitable.

Don't rely on just having a good product to sell, the most important thing is to find out where the people who are interested in the product are at. The program goes into some detail on how you can find where buyers are.

It is important to branch out within your niche. There are many subniches you should look into. The program goes into some detail on how to branch out.

The program also tells you of the products that are the real money makers.

The program gives you all the websites you need as tools. One of them is SpyFu.com. It goes into detail into how to use it and what the information it gives you means. It shows you step by step how to do it.

This is all just from Module 1, there is a ton of information to go through. There are 9 modules in all and each module is pretty long, I would say about 45 mins.

I am really glad I bought The Affiliate Code. It is really helping me out start out right. I can't wait to watch it all and begin applying what I've learned.

I had some doubts at first. The advertisement for it uses very strong selling tactics and has some annoying popups, but the product itself is a quality product. I can tell the guy who made it put in tons of time and effort into it and he also shows proof of his success using his methods. I'm glad I bought it. I'm excited!
